If you want to go trail running in Portugal, there are many many races you can choose from. If you’re around in October, we suggest the Trail Costa Vicentina. Trail Costa Vicentina takes place on October 13th 2019 in between Santiago do Cacém and Porto Covo. Train running in Portugal becomes extra special when you do so on the west coast. The western coast of the Alentejo and the Algarve is also known as Costa Vicentina.
The race holds three distances. The ultratrail will take place along the beautiful and unique trails of the “Costa Vicentina” between Santiago do Cacém and Porto Covo, with a distance of 57 km and 2450m D+. There will be an intermediate distance of 25 km (1031m D+) between Cercal and Porto Covo. And there will be a shorter distance on a 15 km (520m D+) route between Sonega and Porto Covo, also along the same path. These three distances start in the interior of the Alentejo and have a Western direction, ending by the sea in Porto Covo.
On the same day, there will also be a walk, with a circular route in Cercal with a distance of 11km. The money of the registration of the Walk reverts fully to the Volunteer Firefighters of Cercal do Alentejo.
The fees of the Trail Costa Vicentina are 17,50€, 12,50€ and 11€ for the 57K, 25K and 15K respectively, if you enrol before June 30. Then, the prices rise gradually to 22,50€, 16,50€ and 13,50€ until September 30th. And then, you can still enrol until October 7th for 27,50€, 22,50€ and 17,50€ respectively.
