Project Description

Hilly Lisbon

Did you know that Lisbon is known as the “Cidade das Sete Colinas” (City of the Seven Hills), since a legend says that the city was originally built over seven hills? Do you dare to climb some of them? We challenge you to come with us, believe us that the viewpoints on top of each hill are a great reward!

Starting at the riverside Cais do Sodré, this tour will start climbing after only about half a kilometre. We’ll run around some of the most characteristic neighbourhoods of the historical centre, hike up the elevator of Bica, feel lost in the narrow streets of Alfama, climb up to the Castle of São Jorge and feel like the city is proud on our training when she unveils her breath-taking views. To recover, we can stop for some fresh water (or a beer) in the middle of the tour.

Let’s meet here:

Highlights:

  • Start at the river side, at sea-level, and climb up some of the Seven Hills;
  • Discover secret streets in Bica and Bairro Alto;
  • Race against the elevators (like the Graça ou Lavra ones) on Lisbon’s steepest hills;
  • Feel like you’ve conquered the city once we get to the Castle;
  • See many many Miradouros (view points) in a little time.

One hour run for 35€ per person, are your friends coming along? You’ll pay less ;)
